Principles of Digital Audio, 3rd edition, provides a comprehensive introduction and
overview of all major aspects of digital audio technology. The new (1995) edition is
entirely rewritten with much new material on modulation codes, jitter, dither, digital
filters, optical disc recording, Compact Disc formats (CD-I, CD-R, and DVD), digital
interconnections, perceptual coding (AC-2 and AC-3, MPEG, PASC, ATRAC), MiniDisc, digital
audio broadcasting, workstations, digital signal processing, and one-bit conversion.
Further details of the contents can be found in the book's Table of
Contents, and its Introduction. For over a decade, the
earlier editions of this title has been used by professionals and students to learn about
the theory and practice of digital audio topics. The 3rd edition is a wholly revised book,
greatly expanded (620 pages), and up to date with the latest material. In fact, there are
many excellent reasons to purchase this book.

Comments:
"Principles of Digital Audio has much of the best of both worlds in that it has
breadth and descriptive clarity for readers to begin to understand the concepts and
language of many different particular audio topics and enough detail and depth to enable
them to put the information to some serious use.... Everyone can gain something from this
book."
